Marco-Orazio Mazzarella

Marco Orazio Mazzarella

Marco graduated from the University of Bologna in 2016 and spent the next year at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bologna. Marco then started work in a first opinion practice in Italy, until he completed his registration of RCVS. He then moved to South Wales, where he worked in a first opinion practice. He has a keen interest in Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging.

In his spare time, Marco enjoys going to the theatre, running and trekking.

Davide-Immediato

Davide Immediato

Davide graduated from the University of Bari, Italy, in 2013. In 2014 he started his Ph.D. in “Animal Health and Zoonosis” at the same university, where he worked in medical mycology and parasitology, where he was also responsible in teaching activities in the diagnosis of veterinary mycosis for several degrees and specialization courses. He is author and co-author of several publications, abstracts, and posters, as well as a speaker at conferences and he, won two awards in 2014 (FIMUA, best poster awards) and 2016 (SoIPa, young researcher awards).

After his Ph.D., in 2017, he moved to the UK where he worked for two years and a half in first opinion practices between Oxfordshire and South Wales. In 2018 he started his certificate in Veterinary Dermatology. Davide joins Southfield in April 2019 as a rotating intern.

Davide has got a keen interest in dermatology, that led having the ambition to become a specialist in this field.

In his spare time, he loves to play and watch sports, in particular, tennis and volleyball, watch anime, prepare new cosplay, do shopping and travel.

Beatrice-Hertel

Beatrice Hertel

Beatrice graduated in July 2017 from the University of Torino, Italy. After moving to the UK, Beatrice as a mobile veterinary surgeon with a large group of veterinary practices. During her academic years, Beatrice attended Complutense University in Madrid and she did an externship in radiology and orthopaedic surgery at the Kansas State University, USA. In 2015, she developed a keen interest in small animal surgery that led to having the ambition to become a specialist in this field. During her clinical years, Beatrice shadowed her soft tissue surgery professor and she became a parasitology intern, where she undertook a prospective study "Microparasites and wolves in Piedmont" which was presented as part of a larger study at 72° Sisvet Congress in Torino. 

During her spare time, Beatrice enjoys cross-fit, running, cooking and travelling around the world.

Kei-James

Kei James

Intern

Kei graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2018. Post graduation, Kei spent some time in general and emergency practices, before starting the internship at Southfields. She has a keen interest in cardiology and emergency medicine.

In her spare time, Kei enjoys climbing and travelling.

Elisavet-Kritsotalaki

Elisavet Kritsotalaki

Intern

Elisavet graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2012. She continued her studies by obtaining a masters (with distinction) in "Molecular and Applied Physiology" from Medical School of Athens.

Before joining Southfields in October 2019, Elisavet worked for one of the busiest charity hospitals in the UK. Her passion lies in internal medicine and especially oncology, which is what she would like to specialise in. 

In her spare time, Elisavet enjoys meeting with friends, watching horror movies, baking and making her cat Freddy Krueger happy.
